HONG KONG ECONOMIC AND TRADE OFFICE LONDON

Priscilla To, Director-General

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London is delighted to be supporting the UK Joint University Career Fair.

A well-educated, hard-working, flexible and enterprising workforce has always been one of Hong Kong’s greatest strengths. To maintain Hong Kong’s competitiveness in the globalised market, in addition to nurturing our home-grown talent, it is important to encourage young Hong Kong people to consider returning to Hong Kong to contribute to our economy. The UK Joint University Career Fair provides an excellent opportunity to bring together Hong Kong students across the UK and introduce to them the opportunities available in Hong Kong. Corporate recruiters will also have the opportunity to reach out to some of Hong Kong’s best and brightest talent.

We are tremendously proud of the efforts and creativity of our young Hong Kong people who work so hard for this project, and wish the event every success.

HONG KONG GENERAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce is pleased to continue its support for the U.K. Joint University Informative Career Fair. Hong Kong needs more young talent to strengthen our position as an international commercial and financial centre. We believe that this mutually-beneficial event provides Hong Kong companies with a unique opportunity to meet students from Hong Kong studying in the U.K. who wish to contribute their professional skills and knowledge to building a better Hong Kong. The Fair also allows youngsters to learn about career opportunities that are awaiting them here in Hong Kong. We are sure the Fair will be a resounding success for students and businesses and we wish students all the best in their future career paths.

Employers in any field endeavour to recruit the best and brightest – graduates with international

experience, well rounded communication skills, and the ability to innovate and self-motivate.

Studying in the UK gives students an international outlook, and the teaching style in UK universities encourages students to develop well-rounded abilities that prepare them for successful careers. This year more than six thousand Hong Kong students will graduate from university courses in the UK, representing an excellent talent pool for employers.

The British Council whole-heartedly supports the initiative of the UK Joint University Hong Kong

Career Society in bringing together Hong Kong graduates from UK universities and Hong Kong

employers. The Graduate Recruitment Fair is an excellent opportunity for graduates to get their

careers off to a flying start, and likewise a great opportunity for employers to recruit the best

candidates.

With the experience of studying in the UK, returning graduates also play a role in maintaining the

close links that the UK and Hong Kong enjoy. We look forward to following the progress of UK alumni as they move through their careers, either via UK university alumni networks, or the British Council alumni network.

We wish UK Joint University Hong Kong Career Society, participating graduates, and employers

every success for this event and into the future.

BRITISH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN HONG KONG

The British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong is very pleased to support the UK Joint University Hong Kong Career Fair. The British Chamber is one of the biggest international business chambers in Hong Kong. Our members include a very wide range of British, Hong Kong and international companies. The talent available in Hong Kong is one of the main reasons that our member companies find Hong Kong such an excellent place to do business. Hong Kong students studying in the UK will provide a great talent resource for companies here: rooted in Hong Kong, but knowing the UK well, and with that invaluable experience of living and studying in an overseas environment. They will be ideally qualified to contribute to the international business connectivity that is so central to Hong Kong success. The UK Joint University Career Fair has proved an excellent means of connecting these students with Hong Kong employers. I warmly congratulate the Career Fair Committee for taking the initiative to establish this platform and for the energy and professionalism they have shown in making such a success of the project. We wish the fair every success!
