Freshfields Hong Kong Summer Internship Programme 2026

We offer two 4-week programmes in June and July every summer. This is an opportunity of you to get a taste of what it’s like to work at Freshfields. As a summer intern, you will gain exposure to one or two practice groups, get involved in our pro bono work, and participate in exciting firm-wide social activities.

Our Hong Kong trainee positions are filled from the summer internship class. We are looking for penultimate year law students graduating June 2027 to be considered for 2028 training contracts. Whatever your background, we encourage you to apply!

Your personal statement should cover your background, career, interests and aspirations and why you want to start a career in international, commercial law. Mention any positions of responsibility held at school or subsequently. Also include any regular employment, work experience or other achievements and personal qualities which are significant. Please also state briefly why you're applying to Freshfields.

If we like what we see, we’ll ask you to complete an online assessment. If successful, you’ll be invited to interview with a senior lawyer and our people team, either at our Hong Kong office or online. We’ll contact you within a few weeks to let you know the outcome.
